Money System

The Gen

Money within the roleplaying world of Sting is a very simple thing and not universal or common.

The coinage comes in many various forms and is treated rather as a type of tiny ingot. That is to say it has no face value. Rather it is used for barter purposes and is only worth what other PC's or NPC's will trade for it.

The coins themselves are roughly the size of a UK 2p coin and come in every conceivable and readily available metal. Many have the face of local leaders stamped upon them but this is really of no importance as any sensible person dealing in coinage tests and weighs the coins before accepting them as payment.

Due to the unreliabilty of coinage supply and demand, it is much more usual to see goods bartered rather than the passing of coins.

This leads to many people hording small barterable goods, such as skins, thongs, bags and pottery to name a few.
